Rajesh,
I want to compliment you on this book. It is one of the most complete writings I have seen on any of Microsoft's technologies.
Thanks!

Hey Rajesh this seems like a great book, but before I purchase it, I want to make sure it will allow me to create the gadget I am striving for.
I am trying to display a feed of news, that when the article title is clicked, opens in a flyout and displays the the information within the article. Does your book cover this?

The second section of the book, Chapter 5-8 iteratively helps you create a Gadgets based on a feed and covers your requirement completely.
Chapter 5: Creating a Simple Gadget with RSS/Atom Feed
Chapter 6: Design Patterns and Standard Practices
Chapter 7: The MyBlog Gadget Revisited
Chapter 8: Debugging and Deploying a Gadget
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.

No there is no difference for development, the only difference in the sidebar dock for gadget is gone which was the default location.
